My client is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join them on a permanent basis. My clients are an established construction main contractor based in East Yorkshire who work on projects across the Yorkshire area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the tender process on new build and refurbishment projects ranging from £20,000- £2m in value. Key duties:
  • Production and co-ordination of all tender enquiry documentation
  • Co-ordinating all aspects of the tender process, including the preparation and presentation of tender analyses
  • Co-ordination and preparation of detailed project risk analysis schedules and liaising with the commercial manager of methods of incorporation into bids
  • Preparing and issuing subcontractor and material / equipment supplier enquiries
  • Analysis of subcontractor tender returns and production of subcontractor work package comparisons
  • Measurement and production of measured quantities from drawings
  • Review cost model and monitor/report monthly in formal CVR’s.
  • Place subcontract orders in accordance with the main contract.
  • Agree valuations with client and ensure payment on time.
  • Agree final accounts with client and supply chain.
  • Pro-actively report to client any commercial implication of instructions received.
  • Monitor internal expenditure against budget, produce contract variation reports to time, and report exceptions to Senior Management.
  • Provide or ensure provision of supplier feedback
  • Monitor distribution of workload amongst subcontractors.
  • Introduce quality subcontractors into the company. Skills, experience and qualifications
