Quality Systems and PPAP Engineer

Job & Division Summary:
Due to expansion, a Quality Systems and PPAP engineer is required to join the Redditch Quality team. You will support the Quality Manager in ensuring the QMS is maintained, updated and audited to remain compliant to IATF 16949 and customer specific requirements. You will also own the creation, submission and customer approval of PPAP submissions for new and modified products.
Responsibilities:
- Strengthen and help integrate the plants quality management system in compliance to the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, Customer and regulatory requirements
- Lead / conduct ISO/IATF 16949 internal audits, drive corrective and preventative actions and assure effectiveness of actions taken
- Support 3rd party audits assisting with corrective action closure and certification management
- Provide quality guidance to design and development, purchasing, contract review and remote support locations to assure compliance to ISO/IATF16949 and consistent execution of AIAG core tools as required by customers
- Track and maintain a database of all metric reports, including but not limited to internal audit, third party audit, corrective action, and lessons learned
- Complete PPAP submissions to meet project timelines and customer expectations
- Review customer PPAP requirements
- Cascade PPAP requirements through the business
- Be the primary customer point of contact for PPAP queries
- Carry out MSA studies and requalifications
- Ensure ISIR’s / prototype control plans etc. are in place for new builds as appropriate
- Support other quality team members in the use of quality tools and problem solving activities
- Team member for PFMEA creation
- Other tasks as appropriate to the role
- Must be IATF 16949 internal auditor (minimum) but ideally Lead auditor certified
- Knowledge of Core Tools
- Proficient with Microsoft office tools (including Excel)
- Good analytical problem solving skills
- Able to interpret customer requirements and translate into outputs
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence
- Experience of IMDS system would be a plus
- Quality experience in an IATF 16949 manufacturing environment
- HNC or Degree in Mechanical, electrical or manufacturing engineering (or relevant experience)
