Duties And Responsibilities

Actio Recruitment is delighted to be working a leading precision engineerinf company based in Southampton who are recruiting for a Quality Manager on a permanant basis. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and Managing Director the Quality Manager will take full ownership of all aspects of the company’s Quality Management Systems and Health & Safety Compliance. With the assistance of a small team of quality personnel, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the current Quality Management Systems in accordance with IS09001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Lead all Quality related issues within the business
  • Good working knowledge of IS09001 and AS9100, and maintain these accreditations.
  • Maintenance of established Quality Systems, maintenance of all associated Quality documentation/records, including Drawings, Specifications/standards, Approved supplier, etc.
  • Manage and Maintain Health and Safety responsibilities - monitor and implement any changes in legislation, ensure company legal requirements are met and monitored, make sure adequate resources are available - fire marshalls, health and safety officers, etc.
  • Maintain and update customer documentation to cover any health and safety requirements - environmental, conflict minerals, reach and ross.
  • Review customer requirements and ensure they are understood, communicated, and met.
  • Hands-on Quality Manager role including Quality Engineering and Inspection duties as necessary
  • Setting, maintaining, and preparation of KPI’S
  • Manage and lead internal and external QMS Audit Schedules
  • Revalidation of parts in line with customer requirements
  • Resolution of Customer/ internal/ supplier concerns with disciplined problem solving including 8D/5 Why’s
  • Identifying areas/operations for continuous improvement and playing a key part in implementing them.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business and with Customers and Suppliers
  • Manage, supervise and direct a multi-skilled team of Quality personnel in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Continuous training and development of all quality personnel - identify training needs, arrange internal/external training programs to meet job requirements, and keep up-to-date records of training and skills. Have clear succession planning in place to cover departmental needs.

  • Experience in Aerospace systems and procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Practical problem solving
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive IT skills. Hours of work: 7.30 am
