YOUR NEW COMPANY/ROLE:

We are delighted to be working in partnership once more with a global organisation in the Burnley (BB11) area who are looking to bring aboard a Permanent Quality Manager.

The position is to act as a Quality Manager of the PQT area reporting to the Head of QHSE with a functional link to the facility upkeep. Within this role the Quality Manager will be responsible for a range of activities which encompass client PQT’s and other ancillary activities. The role will require daily contact with the PQT Manager.

  • Co-ordination of all quality control inspection activities during PQT’s i.e., forward planning to ensure sufficient inspectors are at site, complete inspection reports and collation and submission of Coating Record Sheets (CRS) for relevant projects.
  • Be the main custodian of calibrated equipment and ensure it is fit for purpose, maintained, stored & used correctly via the relevant procedures and/or standards. Disseminate to QC Inspectors and ensure equipment is received back.
  • Act as the focal point for all quality related processes & any issues.
  • Working as part of a team to promote flawless PQT execution in relation to QHSE.
  • Present the company at the highest level in regard to housekeeping and policies.
  • Promotion of safety awareness and establish safe work practices with technicians under their control.
  • Instruct employees on these safe work practices and correct any unsafe working condition wherever noted.
  • Ensure all measuring & testing equipment including PPE is maintained in good working order
  • Participate in Job Hazard Assessments.
  • Ensure that all necessary equipment, spares consumables (with appropriate SDS sheets), tools etc are stored in storage containers.
  • Ensure that all measuring & testing equipment required to carry out coating operations is in good working order and carries the required Certification for its intended function.
  • Be knowledgeable in the use of coating equipment and hand tools associated with the task.
  • Work at all times within the parameters of the approved project planning and specifications.
  • Regularly review documentation for accuracy, legibility & retention and recommend improvements where possible.
  • Maintain effective communications with relevant parties at all times.
  • Ensure clients get the best possible experience during PQT’s/demos
  • Ensure the V.O.C is collated, documented & Learning experiences are logged.
  • Be aware of all hazards associated with the movement of pipes, task area machinery and coating equipment.
  • React to any fire emergency within the facilities and ensure all respected work areas are evacuated of personnel and prevent entry until safe to do so.
  • To react to any medical emergency situation within the facility and administer treatment in accordance with training received and ensure medical treatment cases are appropriately recorded.
  • Proactive participation in project safety briefings, and toolbox talks.
  • Lead any pre PQT activities to ensure flawless execution by reviewing any lessons learnt & input from Proposals Engineers/Technical Officers.
  • Ensure any lessons learned from PVT are incorporated into final project documentation.

Education / Work Experience Required:

  • NACE level 2 or 3 (preferable) OR ICOR level 2 or 3, OR 5 YEARS’ + in coatings industry
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a senior QC inspectorin a leadership role

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Experience of coating equipment and operations and have an understanding of the characteristics of Production line operations.
  • Have a Quality Control & Assurance focus on Operations in the PQT areas including yards
  • To know and understand the safe operation of project related equipment such as line-up station, powered and lifting rollers.
  • Understand Spill response activities in case of Chemical/Material spills
