A leading manufacturer of complex components to the aerospace, defence & energy sectors has a new vacancy for a Quality Inspector. Joining at a time of expansion due to the award of new long term programmes candidates are sought with previous experience working in precision engineering with a proven track record of first off and final inspection of complex machined components.

Commutable from: Mansfield, Nottingham, Derby, Newark On Trent, Sutton In Ashfield.

Rate: £ 28,000 - £34,000 P.A. + Benefits

Suitable for: Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, Inspector, NDT Inspector, CMM Inspector.

The Role

Working as part of the quality team you will be tasked with verifying products and parts manufactured meet with customer requirements and regulations. The position entails ensuring regular and appropriate testing and inspection of the final product prior to release to customer.

Key responsibilities:

Applying Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing on manufactured parts
Preparing non-conformance reports
Using standard hand-measuring instruments (micrometer, bore gauge, calipers, height gauge)
Verifying parts by carrying out dimensional, functional and visual inspections.

The Person

Candidates must have a proven track record in a similar quality inspection role within a complex manufacturing environment and must be able to read engineering drawings, be conversant with standard gauging equipment & dimensional inspection. With experience working within a fast paced engineering environment you will be familiar with non-conformance reports and possess the ability to devise to plan corrective actions.
