The CompanyAutocraft Machining Solutions is part of the Autocraft Solutions Group. Our 7,000sqm facility in Wellingborough is home to the group’s medium to high volume machining capability. AMS specialises in cylinder head & block machining, bed plates, ladder frames, EV motor & transmission casings, and structural BIW components.
The Role
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our growing Quality team.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be working in Cleanliness Laboratory.
Full training provided
Duties include-
- Conducting Cleanliness tests on machined components regularly according to the control plan.
- Collecting contaminants from machined parts using Pressure rinsing process and filtering the liquid containing contaminants using different filter papers.
- Analysing filter papers on Light Optic Microscope.
- Preparing test reports by Gravimetric analysis method.
- Maintaining cleanliness standards according to ISO 16232.
- Maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures in the lab as per specifications.
- Updating TPM check sheet for cleanliness lab trolley.
- Providing data whenever required to Quality and Project teams.
- Updating AMS lab purchase order status and availability of Renoclean ISO, filter papers and other equipment to Quality Manager.
- Updating Cleanliness activity log daily and cleaning the lab, equipment, trolley regularly.
- Supporting 5S and continuous improvement projects.
- Supporting quality concern investigations
- Supporting Quality technicians in CMM room, other Quality Inspection duties, PDI checks according to the requirement.
Essential
- Previous experience in any manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in quality inspection.
- IT literacy, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding and experience of control plans.
- Commitment to quality, health and safety.
- Good interdepartmental communication skills with a keen, can-do attitude
- Knowledge of technical drawings.
