Position: Quality Engineering Inspector

Salary:£25500 - £31000 per annum

Location: Wigston, Leicester

Start Date:As soon as possible

Working hours:Monday to Thursday 8.15 - 16.45, Fridays 8.00- 14.00

Job Type:Temporary to Permanent

A UK manufacturer of high tech fasteners primarily for the racing market is looking to expand their Quality division by employing a Quality Inspector with an engineering background.

The main duties of the position will be to carry out finishing and final inspection of machine parts to ensure highest quality standards are maintained at all times. Essential to this role would be your previous experience in quality and or inspection roles along with engineering experience.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities Of The Quality Engineering Inspector
  • Final inspection to customer requirements on all batches including visual inspection, first article inspection reports and dimensional measurements
  • Checking and release od first off parts produced in the machine shop
  • Assistance with final finishing operations of bolts and studs
    • Polishing (manual and automated)
    • Part marking
    • Deburring
  • Operating PC-riven measuring equipment
    • TESA
    • Surface measurement
    • Contracing
  • Completion of all QA documentation as required
  • Filing QA paperwork
  • Operating machinery as requested (changing parts and measuring parts)
  • Taking care to ensure customer proprietary information remains confidential at all times
  • Being aware of quality requirements of the business at all times
  • Being aware of health and safety responsibilities in own and others activities
  • Adhering to procedure relating to the proper use and care of equipment, systems and materials at all times

The Ideal Quality Engineering Inspector Will Possess
  • Previous experience in a quality/inspection role within an engineering environment
  • Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, check measurements
  • Professional, organised and methodical with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Punctual, smart and convey the company culture and identity to a high standard
  • Be required to go the ’extra mile’ in line with workload capacity and willingness to assist the business
