CK Group are recruiting for a Quality Controller to join a manufacturing company at their site based in Bishop Auckland on a full time, permanent basis.

The Company: The company has extensive blending facilities and manufacture a range of products from lotions, to gels, sprays to shampoos and a range of other products for varied applications. They now have an opening for a Quality Controller to join their team in a supervisory and hands on capacity. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overall ownership of the quality control system and responsible for monitoring and assuring the quality of all incoming materials, work in progress materials and finished products. The company offers a salary around £28,000pa depending on experience and hours are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Quality Controller Role: Your main duties will be to:

  • Respond to any customer complaints and ensure that appropriate Corrective and Preventive actions are established, and to be accountable for the success of these actions
  • Supervise the Quality Technicians and ensure that they are trained and equipped to carry out QC work to a high standard
  • Oversee the checking of all incoming and outgoing materialand to release product that is deemed acceptable and within the specification for that product
  • To control deviation from bills of materials, product specifications and internal processes
  • Complete process documentation as required
  • Use test equipment as required
  • Support production or other company activities as required

Your Background: The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of performing QC work in the chemcical, food, cosmetic and/ or pharmaceutical manufacturing sector - essential
  • Supervisory experience would be advantageous
  • Must be diligent and accurate.
  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control, cGMP and ISO9001 would be beneficial
