Medical Wire – QC LABORATORY MANAGER

Medical Wire (MWE) are undergoing a period of rapid growth and are currently hiring a QC Laboratory Manager to join the team at their headquarters in Corsham, Wiltshire.

For over 69 years Medical Wire’s clinical products have been at the forefront of laboratory science. With a broad spectrum of carefully engineered preanalytical products that are operable across conventional and molecular testing platforms, MWE products are the de facto standard aiding the diagnosis of infectious disease.

KEY Roles & Responsibilities

• To lead and mentor a small team of laboratory technicians
• To ensure completion of all routine QC testing in accordance with MWE SOP’s
• The evaluation of microbiological performance of media
• Gram staining of media
• Physical inspection of devices
• The timely reporting of any discrepancies to senior management
• The maintenance of all necessary paperwork in line with MDR and IVDR requirements
• Undertaking additional tests that may be required for the investigation of complaints
• Contributing to the formulation and completion of any Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA’s)
• The training of laboratory personnel, ensuring they are fully conversant with all relevant MWE SOP’s
• To contribute to MWE’s research programme, including the testing of prototypes
• To engage and interact with all MWE departments, contributing to the general management and forward planning of MWE production
• Keep abreast of all relevant current and future regulatory requirements

KEY Skills

• A degree in life sciences
• A minimum of 2 years laboratory experience to a minimum of supervisory level
• Familiar with current clinical laboratory practice including automated technologies
• Experience of following written procedures and documenting accurately
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
