Quality Manager

Role Purpose:

Provide the leadership, energy and enthusiasm to deliver your objectives and strategic goals, including:-

An award-winning design, engineering and construction company. Services to the clients range from new build construction, high-end office fit out, GMP cleanrooms, process services, laboratories and warehousing. Key to our success is listening to our client’s requirements and understanding every detail of the design and construction process. From concept through to commissioning, validation and handover, we use expert resources including in house estimating and design teams to consistently deliver high quality facilities. We also self-perform critical work packages including cleanroom installation and M&E services installation. The business also operates a fabrication facility, which supports all the business streams providing prefabricated plant and pipework

o To ensure the effective performance of all quality activities against the compliance requirements of project specifications and standards, and both internal and customer requirements

o Leading, co-ordinating and documenting factory and off-site quality visits

o Support Design and the Project Team to achieve best in class quality through buildability solutions

o Ensuring the company integrated management systems are compliant with ISO 9001, 14001 and other regulatory and legislative requirements

o Responsible for the development, preparation, issue and control of quality related project documentation

o Working with factory and project teams to ensure that customer requirements are addressed by the management systems or project specific procedures

o Undertake inspections and audits to ensure compliance to the company management systems and any customer requirements, including supplier audits and assessments

o Carry out end of project quality reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and capturing lessons learned

o Ownership for the capture, collation and reporting of quality related KPI’s including quality audits, non-conformance reporting, supplier feedback and root cause analysis on issues

o Produce ad hoc, project and board quality reporting

o Undertake induction of new employees into the company systems and procedures

o Undertake training of staff and suppliers on company best practice

o Assist with the pre-qualification process for new subcontractors

o Conduct regular factory and on-site inspections, reporting on best practice and promoting a right first time mentality

Skills and Experience Required:

Experience:-

o Proven experience and understanding of quality issues within the construction sector

o Understanding of CDM regulations, construction processes and standard

o Experienced manager able to direct a team and others that do not report directly

o Proven ability to evaluate information to assess compliance with requirements and identifying improvement opportunities

o Proven ability to produce project related quality plans, processes and associated quality documents

o Internal auditor qualification ISO 9001:2015

o Member of Chartered Quality Institute (CQI)

o CSCS Card

o Ability to create pragmatic, innovative solutions to complex business problems.

o Displays well developed inter-personal skills, sufficient to engage confidently and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

o Confidence to work with senior managers and challenge assumptions where appropriate.

o Strong communicator with proven experience of building constructive relationships with budget-holders and senior management.

o Able to work under pressure and deliver against set objectives.

o Prioritising and planning workloads effectively to deal with conflicting priorities and meeting deadlines.

o Self-motivated, determined and a ‘can do’ attitude.

o You must be a driven and motivated individual who is eager to learn.

o Experience of construction projects, MMC and offsite manufacturing desirable.

o An ability to work either independently or part of a team, adopting the most effective approach to ensure all team tasks are completed to the best of each individual’s ability.

o Positive communication skills in dealing with stakeholders so that customer satisfaction and awareness is maintained, and problems are satisfactorily resolved in a timely and effective manner.

o Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
