Quality Assurance puts in place the processes and procedures that help our Buying teams to make well informed purchasing decisions. Working with a defined Buying team you will be responsible for managing a diverse range of products and liaising with technical service providers to ensure all our products are safe and compliant to legal requirements. After all, only the best will do.

Salary: £54,285 rising to £79,040
Location: Atherstone Head Office
Working Hours: 50 Hours per week

Are you an experienced Quality/Food professional looking for a new challenge?

Would you like to work for a leading, growing Retailer as a Quality Manager looking after a number of food categories?

If so, this exciting opportunity could be for you!

Focusing on food areas you will be an experienced Senior Technical professional, with substantial experience in Retail Quality, NPD or Food Manufacturing.

You will work with a defined Buying team with responsibility for a managing a diverse range of food commodity groups. You will manage a team that will liaise with our nominated Technical Service Providers and Buyers to ensure products meet our quality, safety and legal standards. In addition, you will be engaged in working with International QA colleagues to support the ongoing development and implementation of the Quality Strategy both locally and globally.

You will have excellent people leadership skills, be a good communicator with the abliity to influence all levels within the business. You will have an understanding of EU and UK laws and be able to interpret legislation in order to ensure that products launched are safe, legal and meet our defined quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a good track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, have excellent verbal and written skills. They will have previously demonstrated their ability in a fast-paced, cross-functional/ FMCG environment. Candidates should have previous food related experience and should be keen to expand their knowledge further within Aldi.

Key Requirements:
Essential

  • 2:1 Degree in the following fields:
  • Food science
  • Food Technology
  • Food Engineering
  • Health & Nutrition
  • Microbiology
  • Experience in a similar field - Food Retail, Food Manufacturing, Food Wholesale
  • Retail or Supplier food experience.
  • Confident communicator, team player.
  • Experience managing and leading teams and external stakeholders such as 3rd party technical service providers.
Desirable

  • Similar technical degrees or HND.
  • Manufacturing or laboratory experience working with hardlines products.
  • Management of technical service providers e.g. SGS, Eurofins, Intertek, etc.
  • Project management.
  • Developing product specifications.
  • Complaint reviews and management.
  • Auditing and corrective action planning.
  • Experience in role for a retail organization, laboratory or manufacturers.
