Role:Quality Assurance Coordinator

Role Purpose:You will ensure that quality systems are effective for the business, comply with all relevant legislation, and comply with the Global Standard for Food Safety, ensuring food safety, product quality, and process adherence.

Reporting to: QA Manager

Location: Production/Laboratory based

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety – understand, advise on, and implement systems and procedures to comply with the Global Standard for Food Safety.
  • Assign responsibility for the QMS, its processes, reporting, and for managing change.
  • Document control – ensure that changes are reviewed, approved, and that only approved versions of documents are in circulation.
  • Traceability- Review traceability paperwork within the organisation, ensuring processes are being adhered to. Frequently testing of the traceability system in conjunction with the traceability team, ensuring any non-conformances are reported back within the system.
  • HACCP – contribute to HACCP meetings as a team member, minute meetings, and help assign tasks to the relevant team members.
  • Internal audit – own the internal audit system, schedule audits with the audit team, of which you a will be a key member. providing coaching and support, as required.
  • Following up of non-conformances raised from internal and external audits, assisting, and ensuring that corrective actions are implemented in a timely and effective manner to resolve any issues.
  • Reviewing the effectiveness of the corrective and preventative actions.
  • Supporting with training of processes and procedures when required i.e., when this would not normally be expected to be trained out by department managers or the training manager
  • Highlight to senior management where resources are required for the proper implementation of the QMS
  • Completion of all admin duties relating to the role
  • Undertake additional tasks as and when required to support the QA department

Role Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems and processes.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines.
  • PC Literate in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience in working towards BRC standards (preferred)
  • Internal auditing certificate
  • HACCP Level 3 certificate
  • A good working knowledge of health, safety, and security requirements
  • Experience with writing and enforcing quality procedures
  • Minimum of 1 year within a similar role (ideally in a food environment)
