This is an exciting opportunity in a pivotal role; providing our Carlisle site with QA, Food Safety, Pest Control and Process Integrity advice and support. You will join the Compliance function as a QA / Food Professional specialist and will have the opportunity to work collectively with Leadership team members, Team Managers and Operators at the site.

What will this role achieve?

You will:

  • Implement pladis’ Central QA and Food Safety Policies and Procedures and drive continuous improvement of the site standards and systems
  • Manage the site’s Quality and Food Safety systems and internal audit programmes
  • Assist the site in managing complaint, issue and incident prevention and investigations, and in delivering compliance to all legal, pladis, Retailer and other external relevant standards.

What will be your key results?

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise in QA and Food Safety matters in order to provide the site with appropriate advice and support
  • Be accountable and responsible for maintaining and facilitating continuous improvement in all aspects of the site’s Quality and Food Safety management systems and standards, in line with the groups systems and policies
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of a robust Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system to maintain food safety across the site
  • Support the Crisis Incident Management (CIM) process for QA & Food Safety issues by carrying out formal risk assessments and reports into the site’s Green Team
  • Drive the Every Day Quality (EDQ) agenda; addresses quality issues and determines the site requirements for quality improvements
  • Be responsible for and co-ordinate the investigation of all consumer and customer complaints as required
  • Audit, supervise and review the implementation of policies, working practices, procedures and standards for all respective operations as identified by the Compliance Manager and Central Compliance team
  • Co-ordinates all audits through the Central Audit Team and accompanies auditors on site
  • Support manufacturing teams in ensuring compliance and has responsibility for compliance and issue resolution relating to QA and Food Safety systems
  • Have overall responsibility for the vendor performance process for the site to ensure all raw materials meet the required quality and food safety standards.

What do you need for this role?

Crucial

  • Qualified by: Food or Science based HND, Level 4 Food Safety or Level 4 HACCP
  • Formal auditing qualification
  • Proven practical experience in a QA/FS role in a blue chip FMCG company
  • Experience of leading HACCP Systems
  • Inquisitive, driven, tenacious and results-oriented demeanour
  • Driven with an aim to achieve the best results
  • Confident IT skills and proven communication skills

Preferred

  • Educated to degree level in food science or similar
