Job Title: Nursery Practitioner
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children in the nursery
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to promote child development
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, mealtime, and naptime
- Observe and assess children’s progress and report any concerns to the nursery manager
- Collaborate with parents to ensure effective communication and address any specific needs or requests
- Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of all children
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a EYFS Level 3 Qualification
- Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with colleagues
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children

We are looking to appoint a permanent Nursery Practitioner and Keyworker in our thriving, vibrant and inclusive Nursery School in Eastbourne. We cover age ranges from 12 months to 4 years.
Reporting to the Nursery Manager, we are looking for someone to provide an outstanding education and pastoral experience to allow children within Wren House Nursery to thrive and flourish. The successful candidate will be a passionate, experienced Nursery practitioner who is looking to work in a caring, fun nursery in Eastbourne. Candidates will need to have an EYFS Level 3 Qualification or above in childcare to apply and preferably 2 years or more childcare experience. You will deliver activities and provide pastoral care of the highest quality to ensure pupils’ learning is optimized, sessions are enjoyable and the EYFS curriculum is delivered effectively.
Our popular Nursery is open 47 weeks a year between 8.30am and 5:00pm. You will be working Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours a day, alongside other members of the Nursery Team to ensure that children are cared for in a safe, stimulating and organised environment.
