Due to the expansion of our practice, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at Horsforth Dental. We are looking for a hardworking and caring employee, with a friendly disposition for the position of Dental Nurse. We would like someone with a passion for dentistry, and who is confident in dealing with the public, polite, and with good communication skills.
We are looking for outstanding applicants who are either:
Qualified and GDC registered nurses (salary up to £12.00 per hour depending on experience)
or
Candidates without prior experience, and who are willing to undertake a nursing qualification NVQ level 3, financed by the practice (salary will be at apprentice rate for non-qualified staff - from £9.50 per hour)

Job role

We are a small NHS and private dental practice based in Horsforth. We offer a range of treatments from restorative work to Invisalign and implants. The right candidate must be able to work as part of a team to ensure each patient has an excellent experience with us. The role involves:

  • Welcoming and dealing with patients both face to face and over the phone
  • Providing direct support with their treatment
  • Supporting the dentist in the surgery
  • Taking responsibility for the decontamination of instruments
  • Ensuring that all relevant materials and supplies are in place
  • Updating patient records
  • Supporting the team with the smooth running of the practice

Job details
The role is part-time, with the following hours:
Monday - day off
Tuesday - day off
Wednesday - 08:15 - 17:45
Thursday - 08:45 - 17:45
Friday - 08:45 - 16:15
Saturday - occasional to cover
There are plenty of opportunities for extra hours to cover staff holiday, and we are looking for a flexible member of our team who is able to offer cover for leave/sickness where possible.

Essential attributes:
Must be GDC registered or willing to register on a training programme
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to establish rapport and articulate information
Caring manner, and understanding of patient needs
Enjoys working in a team
Good experience of IT systems (experience with Exact desired but not essential)

COVID-19 considerations:
There are no longer any national guidelines for dentistry which means patients no longer have to wear masks. Dental nurses do require masks and other PPE as standard (and these will be provided).
