QSHE & Compliance Officer required, based in Greater Manchester. Requiring a degree in Chemistry (or similar) and experience of Health and Safety within a manufacturing background.

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Term: Permanent

SRG are currently working with well-established chemical manufacturer who are a market leader in producing surfactants and cleaning products. With their continued expansion, they are now seeking a QSHE & Compliance Officer to join their team based at their site in Greater Manchester. This role will primarily involve supporting to ensure the necessary resources are in place to instil and maintain an effective safety culture across their sites, as well as providing regulatory and compliance support across the company.

Role / Description

  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and delivery of the SHE Management System
  • Assist with the implementation of the SHE strategy
  • Reviewing and approving the use of raw material data supplied, completing necessary paperwork and questionnaires
  • Developing and maintaining a database of compliance and regulatory information to support other teams
  • Assisting in UK and EU REACH registrations with support from specialists
  • Investigate and Environmental Incidents on site
  • Create and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Manage risk assessments and liaise with relevant advisors and consultants
  • Support with internal audits, whilst ensuring compliance with ISO 45001

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • An understanding of current SHE manufacturing legislation, or experience of Health and Safety within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience and understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) relating to chemicals or chemical products is desirable
  • Experience and understanding of CLP and REACH labelling and registrations is also desirable
