About you

This role is ideally suited to an organised, proactive and self-motivated individual with a systematic approach to production quality.

Someone with practical experience and an understanding of mechanical parts, component suppliers, and production environment issues.

Previous manufacturing environment, production quality experience and/or an engineering- oriented college qualification may all be useful, but full training will be provided.

Primary main duties and responsibilities:

• Undertake full Quality Inspection activities across business (Final Inspection)
• Complete all measurements tasks and Initial Sample Inspection Reports.
• Provide dimensional support when required.
• Provide dimensional support for all New Product Introduction.
• Conduct QEHS audits as required by QEHS Manager. Make recommendations and observations where appropriate.
• Support monitoring and measuring and assist with data analysis.
• To liaise closely with other members of the QEHS and Engineering Team.
• Process all supplier returns and update database.
• Process all Customer returns and feedback to Customer Support.
• Create and issue Quality Alerts.
• Support Quality and Health & Safety investigations.
• Maintain Quarantine cage.
• 5S audit co-ordinator.
• Support Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives.

Secondary main duties and responsibilities:

• Represent QEHS at continuous improvement working groups and Toolbox talks.
• Support / Participate in Quality Continuous Improvement initiatives across the business.
• Update or create work instructions.

Essential Skills:

• Strong communication skills
• Experienced in working in a low/medium volume manufacturing operation
• Meticulous and quality focused
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Used to working in a metric-driven production facility
• Experienced in a range of inspection and verification activities within a workshop environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Good time management and an ability to prioritise workloads
• General education GCSE Maths & English minimum.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018
• An understanding of lean / continuous improvement principles and techniques
• Knowledge of modern quality tools and techniques an advantage.
