Role Purpose

The QA Lead drives the use of quality assurance best practices within our client’s company, by establishing policies for the test team and supporting the Head of Technology in setting the test strategy.

They will have an excellent understanding of Agile methodologies complemented with strong Automation Testing, Continuous Integration practice as well as excellent Exploratory Testing skills, and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maturing an enterprise-capable integrated Test Automation Strategy.

Main Accountabilities

• To be fully conversant on all new system requirements and write creative test case criteria based on user stories and business requirements based on either manual or automated testing.
• To identify and recommend the automated testing processes and tools
• To define and publish key performance metrics for the automated testing
• To define and implement test automation strategy including roadmap, tools, framework & approach
• Coach teams on the implementation of best agile practices that exploit automation to increase delivery effectiveness
• To coach cross-functional team members in how they can contribute to successful automation outcomes
• To create and carry out integration, regression, load and performance testing as required.
• To develop and provide direction on automation tools and frameworks
• To establish and execute the Test Plan within Sprints
• To confirm test quality through acceptance criteria traceability
• To support the smooth delivery of the test activity, such as progress reports of testing schedule and results.
• To conduct user acceptance testing, by writing plans, analysing results and reporting back on outputs.
  

Knowledge & Expertise

• Advanced level of knowledge of testing concepts, methodologies, and processes
• Ability to build automated and manual test scripts, produce issue reports and manage defects lifecycle in collaboration with the product owner.
• Experience with test automation tools & methodologies (e.g. WebdriverIO, Selenium-Webdriver, Postman, Cypress etc. or other equivalents)
• Proficient in at least a programming language (Typescript / other scripting languages)
• Understanding of SQL Server and ability to write queries for testing database
• Hands-on experience in building & maintaining test suites for Web applications & Web services
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and project reporting
• Proven experience in designing and implementing Automation Testing frameworks and methodology to support agile product development
• Hands-on experience specifying, establishing and managing test environments and test data for load and functional automation projects

Experience, Qualifications And Other Requirements Specific To The Role

• 5+ years’ work experience as QA Lead or equivalent role
