Job Overview
QA Analysts are responsible for ensuring that new and amended systems meet functional and non-functional requirements. QA Analysts help the software delivery teams at SMS to have the confidence to release new software updates by acting as advocates for quality assurance practices throughout the software development lifecycle.Working closely with developers, business analysts and product owners to ensure that all software is of a high standard, free from defects and meets the needs of the business stakeholders.
The QA Analysts are a key part of a multi-functional software delivery team who are responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of a suite of business systems important to effective operations at SMS Plc.
The role gives the opportunity to apply and develop your professional skills by continuously looking for ways to improve the quality of software delivered across the software development function

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with Business Analysts, Product Owners and Developers to ensure user stories have the required level of detail and user acceptance criteria
  • Manual testing of new features to ensure they meet requirements and quality standards
  • Creating, modifying, and maintaining manual test suites for both web and mobile applications
  • Carrying out manual regression testing of new releases
  • Contributing to and supporting a variety of test phase efforts

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/MEMBERSHIPS

  • Essential -ISTQB Foundation Level Agile Tester
  • Desirable -Degree (or equivalent), preferably in computer science or related subject

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Manual verification testing including the ability to analyse and report on test results
  • Exploratory software testing
  • Functional test case design and documentation
  • Agile development processes
  • TestRail or similar test management tools
  • Experience with continuous integration tools e.g., Jenkins
