Set within an acre at Millet’s Farm, Dahlia Beach is a PYO flower farm with a difference. We’ve planted 8000 dahlias around a bright pink double decker bus where people from all over the UK flock to take photos and fill their arms with beautiful flowers.

Since launching on Instagram in September 2020, we’ve grown a community of over 78,000 wonderful followers who have supported us through the highs and lows and we’re looking for someone special to support our farm manager this summer.

Not only is it a joyful place to work, there will also be lots of opportunities to learn new and exciting skills; from flower arranging to reels, event planning to exhibitions.

Job description

As a small business, you will be expected to help in all aspects of making Dahlia Beach an awesome and aspirational place to visit.

You’ll be responsible for:

· Processing tickets and taking payments for admission to the field and cut flowers

· Showing people around the field and answering questions

· Cutting and arranging flowers into bouquets (training offered)

· Preparing for workshops

· Selling and packaging merchandise from onsite orders

· Maintaining the public walkways and keeping the bus clean and tidy

· Weeding, watering and dead heading of plants

. Assisting with preparations for shows and events

. Supporting the team at the wholesale farm at Woodstock, as and when needed

SKILLS:

· Excellent communication skills and preferably some sales experience

· Confident and outgoing personality

. Reliable and punctual disposition

· Positive, ‘can do’ attitude

· Resilient and flexible approach to problem solving

· Interest in gardening and horticulture is preferable but not essential

. Experience in a customer facing business is essential

THE DETAILS:

Fixed contract: 14th August until the 15th November

Hours: 9:15 - 5:30 Wednesday to Sunday

Salary: £10.50 per hour plus 5% commission on the sales of merchandise

Interview dates: Week commencing 11th July
