Purchasing Graduate

Zenith People are looking to recruit a Purchasing Graduate to work at its client site in Washington. The purchasing function is responsible for purchasing activity linked to current programs in production. You will have the opportunity to gain an insight into how decisions and actions can impact upon delivering the best results for the company and its customers through supporting the team to improve supplier performance in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery.

The role responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all procedures.
• Develop, execute, and control internal procedures including spending authorisation in accordance with Group procedures and policies.
• Ensure site activities are compliant with company related procedures (product flow, inventory, routings) and internal controls.
• Participate in Plant forecasting processes, providing data for budget, periodic forecast.
• Collect and manage data consolidation and reporting, ensuring reliability, consistency, transparency, and delay compliance.
• Update information into the ERP system.
• Collaborate with Shared Service Centre obtaining/providing accurate information.
• During the pursuit of all duties the Code of Ethics and Code of Management will be adhered to at all times.
• Supporting quotation preparation and analysis, tracking budget vs actual from quotation to production (per program, per part).
• Monitoring of performance against KPIs
• Utilisation of SAP system
• Communication with other departments on purchase related issues.
• Analysis of supplier information to ensure that supplier cost detail is available.
• Supporting the site logistics teams to optimize packaging used to supply the product.
• New project implementation.
• Support of series purchasing projects and new product launch.
• Support engineering change requests.
• Manage purchase orders for the department using the SAP system.
• Involvement in supplier meetings.
• During the pursuit of all duties the Code of Ethics and Code of Management will be adhered to at all times.

The person we’re looking for:

• The job holder should be self-motivated and confident enough to act on their own initiative. Someone who is able to be autonomous and proactive.
• Must be able to multi-task, be well organised and work at a high pace whilst constantly juggling priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical.
• Must be computer literate with strong working knowledge of Microsoft excel and working knowledge of word and power point. SAP knowledge desirable.
• Understand the need for confidentiality and professionalism within the workplace.
• Committed to continuous improvement.
• A graduate – preferably in management.

Salary: £24,000pa for the first year and £25,500pa for 2nd year
