Hotel Details
Overlooking the historic City Walls and Monk Bar, the city’s largest Medieval gateway, the hotel is within walking distance to York Minster and other main attractions. The DoubleTree by Hilton York comprises of 143 air-conditioned guest rooms, The Yorkshire Bar and Grill, Orangery, 24-hour fitness centre and 2,400 sq. ft. of flexible, state-of-the art event space.
Job Description
You will ensure that all public areas are serviced and maintained to a high standard and reflect the hotel and company service values.
Responsibilities
- Ensure routine and periodic cleaning is carried out in allocated areas, as directed by your Team Leader/s.
- Clean and maintain all public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and lifts.
- Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and dust furniture in public areas.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces in public areas.
- Empty bins and replace liners as needed.
- Ensure that all public areas are well-stocked with supplies such as toiletries and paper products.
- Practice the correct use and care of all items of equipment, such as vacuums, trolleys, etc.
- Ensure the correct use of cleaning agents on all surfaces, as directed.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
- Report any damage or wear and tear arising in any of your work areas.
- Adhere to key and cash procedures.
- Attend and complete training when required.
- Be fully aware of and adhere to Fire Safety, Health & Safety, and Fire and Bomb threat procedures as laid down by the hotel and company.
- Attend work consistently well-groomed and in uniform, as laid down in the standards.
- Consistently deliver superior customer service.
- Suggest ideas for further improving your department and customer service.
- Assist guests with any questions or requests that they may have.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Salary: £10.67 per hour
