More About Your Role

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced UX/UI Designer to join Places for People within our Engineering team in the Technology function, working with colleagues across the Group.

Working as part of a project team you will help foster a shared understanding of the problem, using the Design Thinking methodology. You will use a range of User Research techniques to deep dive into the problem and use your findings to inform design decisions. You will also take accessibility into account at all stages, involving the end-user from the start and throughout the process.

You will be responsible for understanding our users’ needs and challenges and will bring fulfilment and value to our customers lives making sure these meet the product vision and business goals.

Please note that this is a UK based remote working , fixed term contract position until 17th August 2023. Some travel to the Preston office will be required as and when appropriate for meetings and to aid collaboration.

More About You

The successful individual will have sound experience of the product development process and design thinking methodology and will work as part of a cross-functional project team in a fast-paced, agile environment. With experience working as a UX/UI Designer you will understand all stages of the design process: from user research, the creation of customer journeys, IA and user flows to ideation, wireframing, prototyping, design and user testing.

You will have a keen eye for detail and obsessive appreciation of the Laws of UX when building user interfaces. Ideally you will have experience with coding and be able to troubleshoot with CSS and HTML. Experience of using Umbraco would be useful, although we full training will be provided.
