About This Role

Group Tax is a specialist function within Group Finance & Business Services. It is a vital part of BT’s Tax, Treasury, Insurance & Pensions function with the responsibility of ensuring specialist issues are widely understood by Customer Facing Units (CFU) and other Corporate Units (CU) by being personal, simple and brilliant.

As part of Group Tax, this role ensures BT meets its compliance requirements and controls BT’s financial risk. You will do this by developing functional insight through our people and by partnering with external stakeholders. You will maintain specialist skills, set strategies and policies and operate specialist processes.

The purpose of this role is to provide maternity cover for a fixed term contract 31st March 2022 -

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities
  • The primary responsibility is the finalisation and submission of the BT subsidiary corporation tax returns after the statutory accounts have been signed
  • Inherent in the compliance responsibilities is the presentation of group reporting matters, specifically the BT group CFC report
You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience
  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Detailed knowledge of the UK corporation tax regime
  • Good project management skills to ensure prompt delivery of accountabilities
  • Good understanding of tax processes and control frameworks as applied to CT compliance matters and the delivery of process improvements
