  • Employed as a trainee role, to successfully complete the Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) Master’s Degree (MSc Level 7) programme in line with the Health Education England (HEE) Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice, and their primary professional regulatory body to work as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner in trauma / fracture clinics
  • To work towards fulfilling the expectations and core capabilities of an ACP as set out in the HEE Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England. This will be achieved through workplace-based assessments in clinical practice, with a named clinical supervisor, and clinical supervision in own service/speciality area
  • The trainee role will be supported in their professional development and wellbeing, in order to prepare for transition to a qualified ACP role on achievement of the academic requirements, and evidence of workplace-based capability and competence within their service/speciality.
  • The trainee will be expected to demonstrate and develop proficiency across the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice, namely Clinical, Leadership and Management, Education and Research
  • To act as an advanced physiotherapy clinical practitioner within the Trauma Outpatient Consultant Clinics for fracture and ED Minors using advanced clinical reasoning skills to diagnose and treat acute traumatic MSK injuries.
  • They will use advanced clinical decision making and expertise to guide and support treatment pathways ensuring the delivery of a clear pathway and rehabilitation plans.
The Oxford Trauma Department and Major Trauma Centre (MTC) are located within the John Radcliffe Hospital. The MTC is the hub for a network of surrounding hospitals designated as Trauma Units across the Thames Valley Trauma Network and cares for a number of different major trauma patients. A 24/7 consultant-led Trauma team at the MTC provide high quality, specialist care for the most severely injured patients across the Network.
