Shift Operations Manager

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift patterns: 4 on 4 off, 06:00 to 18:00.

Location: Manchester (M26 2XH)

DHL, award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Shift Operations Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods and dispatching orders.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

• Supervise the running of a safe and efficient operation, working within clear guidelines to help achieve OPS STANDARDS and defined outcomes for its responsibility area / shift approach.
• Coordinate and provide support and information in the running of a safe and efficient operation, working within clear guidelines to help achieve the operational standards and defined outcomes for your responsibility area during shift in individual approach.
• Communicate Objectives & KPIs applicable to your team (Frontline Leadership), establish how frequently these should be tracked, how the results are calculated, and on which report they can find the results, including communication to new leaders on your team as part of the on boarding process
• Receive Daily resource planning updated from previous shift and define shift priorities with the Frontline Leadership. If there is a significant deviation of employee attendance (communicated by Frontline Leadership), update the tool to improve planning.
• Ensure performance reviews are conducted individually by Frontline Leadership by tracking % of employees who have received their formal performance reviews vs. plan - via OMS Culture Dashboard

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to manage a team and change processes.
• Communications skill, problem solving skills with a good balance of Results and respect approach.
• Ability to drive Standards within the direct team.
• Previous experience of Capital Equipment – Desirable.
• Picking experience/Pick by line and exposure to Chilled environment working - Desirable
