We are looking for a Senior IT Automation Test Analyst to join our team based at our office in Reading or Havant

The role will be in SSE’s Business Energy business which is responsible for supplying energy in a reliable and sustainable way to over 500,000 business customers in the UK ranging from start-ups to large national corporates. Through leveraging the strengths of the SSE Group, SSE Business Energy can support our customers to adopt a sustainable business approach through the provision of renewable energy, energy optimisation services and advice on how to use sustainability to drive business advantage.

The Role

The Senior Test Analyst will provide quality assurance for IT Changes by planning, co-ordinating and executing testing in non-production environments through several structured test cycles. This work is essential to protect the integrity of the live systems and minimise the risks to the business from IT change.

• As a Senior Test Analyst, you will be expected to lead test activities on projects, taking ownership and managing through to successful completion.
• Act as a test automation subject matter expert, develop a long-term test automation strategy and build automation frameworks that deliver proven efficiencies.
• Maintain existing, and build new automated test scripts
• Select and develop appropriate test automation tools, applying industry best practice
• Implement Continuous Integration
• Ensure proper traceability, version control and configuration management of all test objects developed
  

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, you will have proven experience of:

• Implementing automated tests in an Event Driven solution
• Testing API’s and Message Queues
• Working in a Test Driven Development environment
• Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD), ideally using Azure DevOps
  

You will also need excellent planning, communication and stakeholder engagement skills as you will engage with senior stakeholders. A strong understanding and hands-on experience using Microsoft Azure, dotnet Core, MVC WebAPI and Azure DevOps, or similar technologies, is required.
