How you will do it
The role will be responsible for the creation and execution of the procurement and business strategies of logistics category and its suppliers on the road freight, parcel, warehousing, customs broker, air freight and ocean freight categories within EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) with a spend of approx. USD100MM
The role will have global and EMEA interaction with global counter parts, local procurement and other regions, through the sharing of best practices and the identification of opportunities.
The experienced professional will procure logistics services and develop strategies at the highest level, to provide the highest quality and the best cost efficiency result to the plants, distribution centers, branches and all logistics business areas and stakeholders in EMEA region.
You will develop and execute actions designed to comply with the business process requirements, improve efficiencies, and generate savings, by reducing costs and procurement related expenses while improving profitability as well as increasing our Trade Working Capital, aligned with all business unit’s requirements.
In this very important role, you will be responsible within the Procurement Category Management team for category strategy planning and implementation, holistic demand management, risk management and strategic make-or-buy decisions
Develop and execute strategies designed to improve business with all business units’ requirements.
You will lead strategically important projects, including identifying project risk and initiate measures to mitigate those with a strong collaboration of the stakeholders
Work effectively with all business units’ leaders globally to ensure alignment of the global strategy and adoption of best practices.
Develop business review format and common scorecard to evaluate ongoing performance.
Understand market trends and regulation changes that may affect our business operations and communicate impacts proactively.
Stay informed of any changes or updates in laws, tariffs, commodity classifications, and regulations at the International, National, Province/State and Local levels
What we look for
Bachelor or Master’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in functional procurement or category manager roles in logistics,
International procurement experience, managing different countries or regions
Knowledge in Logistics areas and understanding of logistics market in EMEA
Excellent communication skills, pro-active and a self-driven work attitude
Leadership skills and ability to communicate with the different logistics and procurement stakeholders at all levels, to drive and influence them
Proven negotiation skills, project management skills, spend analysis skills, experience managing tenders/sourcing events, proven savings achievements result of sourcing/negotiation events, strategic sourcing mindset, category management concept understanding, and proven supplier relationship management skills
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
