Role title: Project manager

The Role:

Reporting to the Programme manager, the Project manager will work alongside other members of the COVID-19 team to plan, coordinate and support the monitoring of progress on individual projects as well as providing general project management support to their team.

What you will bring to NICE:

To be considered for this role, we are looking for:

  • Specialist knowledge across the range of work procedures and practices underpinned by theoretical knowledge or relevant practical experience
  • Knowledge of current developments in the NHS
  • An understanding of the social, political, economic and technical context within which the NHS operates
  • Effective and persuasive communicator demonstrating oral, written and presentation skills with a high degree of personal credibility
  • The ability to communicate effectively and establish effective working relationships with a range of external and internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Skilled problem solver capable of a high degree of risk analysis and risk management
  • Ability to deliver complex projects to time and high quality

The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Postgraduate diploma, CIPD, CAB financial qualification (eg ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA) or equivalent qualification (eg non-English qualification) or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience and further training/development
  • Proven operational involvement in the management of complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in working with a range of individuals and organisations ideally in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to analyse complex information, to think and plan strategically and to exercise sound judgement in the face of conflicting pressures
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques
  • High drive and determination to complete a task where the work is unpredictable and/or complex and deadlines are tight

The Department:

The COVID-19 team is responsible for developing, monitoring and updating guidance related to COVID-19. You will be joining a team of approximately 20 people at an interesting time, as we work to further develop innovative methods and processes for rapid living guidelines and respond to the ongoing needs of the healthcare system in the context of the pandemic.
