Plant Area Manager (Horticulture) Outskirts of Canterbury £25,000-£28,000pa + company discount, 28 days holiday, pension KHR is working with a reputable, multi-site garden centre chain with offices across Kent, who at present are looking to hire a driven and experienced Plant Area Manager for their centre near Canterbury. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Leading a plant team, overseeing plant area both in day-to-day tasks as well as ensuring the long-term company objectives are being achieved in line with centre management and head office directives
  • Evaluating sales and implementing actions to improve where required
  • Ensuring the department is adequately stocked to meet the sales targets
  • Maintaining high standards of stock and presentation, and managing the plant area safety
  • Trains and supervises staff in line with Company policy
  • Other ad-hoc duties when required Candidate Profile
  • Previous experience in a horticultural role
  • A creative attitude towards plant retailing to deliver consistently high standards of merchandising and displays
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • An eye for detail, excellent housekeeping and stock control management
  • A passion for customer service and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • A working knowledge of an EPoS system, reporting and stock management
  • Plant, pest & disease knowledge Hours of work are 8am
  • 5pm, you will have 1 set day off per week and will be required to work alternate weekends.
