Trainee Mortgage Advisor

We are looking for a Qualified Mortgage Advisor to join within the East Kent Region working in our well known Estate Agency brands. OTE £35k

We are looking for an exceptional person who has the skills, attributes and drive to improve our customers` experience throughout the mortgage process.

You will need to be adaptable, self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast paced, target driven environment.

Main responsibilities of a Mortgage and Protection Advisor

  • Building relationships with the Estate Agency teams in order to provide training and support.
  • Attracting new customers and business, whilst being motivated to achieve professional goals within a result-driven environment.
  • Being able to walk our customers through the entire mortgage service, including providing advice on a range of products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Taking part in regular branch meetings to discuss best practice and build lasting relationships.

Skills and experience required to be a successful Mortgage and Protection Advisor

  • Hold CeMap or industry equivalent qualification.
  • Able to generate new business in a target driven environment.
  • Outstanding customer care / customer service experience.
  • Resilient, positive, organised, numerate and detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • IT literate (MS Office, internet, email systems).
  • A Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Selling products based on providing clients with a full advice and recommendation service

• To refer, when appropriate, clients to our Company’s in house conveyancing and surveying business, and generally support all parts of the Group’s business as appropriate.

• To sell Wills based on providing clients with guidance specific to their needs.

• Ensure all advice is given on the basis of a full and detailed fact-find, which complies with Company standards and the requirements of the Financial Conduct Authority, ensuring that all advice given is fully documented to Company Business Advice Standards (condensed)

• Ensure management information is provided on a timely basis and as required by line management (condensed)

• To undertake any additional tasks as set from time to time by the Company

Your skills and experience

• Minimum 4 GCSE’s Grade C or above including Math’s and English (or equivalent)

• CEMAP 1 Qualification and product knowledge prior to advising clients – provided by ourselves if you don’t have it already.

• Full mortgage qualification and competent status achieved within 2 years of entering Financial Services sales role

• An understanding of the Company’s Training and Competence Scheme

• Ability to demonstrate a stable background with no more than 3 voluntary job changes within the last 5 years.

• Able to demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity and honesty i.e. no adverse references from previous employers, no CCJ’s or other financial problems

• Professional image portraying confidence, organised individual, able to make things happen smoothly

• Tenacious, proactive individual, able to work without close supervision, but as part of a team

• A target driven and results orientated individual
