Microbiology Laboratory Technicians - 12 Month Student Placement£18,000 At GAMA Healthcare we help prevent infections and save lives. Our product portfolio ranges from disinfectant wipes and hand gels (Clinell) to medical equipment (rediroom). Microbiology is a core discipline within our Research & Development function - after all, without it, we wouldn’t be able to prove how effective our products are against infection!

We’ve created 2 exciting opportunities for a Microbiology, Biology or other relevant Life Sciences student to join our R&D team for 12 months. You’ll be joining a busy department, but you’ll be fully supported and mentored by our experienced microbiologists. What can you expect to be doing?

Assist industry standard disinfection efficacy testing against bacteria, fungi, and viruses to underpin GAMA’s new product development pipeline Support the daily lab activities through the culturing of organisms, media preparation, laboratory inventory control Apply microbiological techniques to further GAMA’s R&D program Collect raw data through agree methodology Maintain high standards of laboratory safety, quality, and cleanliness by following agreed procedures
What will you need to be successful?
Studying toward a microbiology, biology, or other relevant life sciences degree Motivated work ethic with a self-starter mentality A team player spirit! You’ll be helping and learning from lots of different people in the lab Excellent communication skills both with scientists and non-scientists An appetite to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Effective organisation skills, with a structured approach to prioritisation
