This role exists as part of the Finance SMT at TBU and is responsible for multiple areas and teams within the TBU Finance organisation covering P2P (Car Hire, Rides, Marketplace, Overheads and Strategic Partners), O2C, and billing. The Finance Operations Manager is required to ensure the delivery of smooth transactional processing incorporating delivery of support and helpdesk activity, process improvements and innovation.

The role is required to drive delivery of strategic initiatives in the P2P and O2C functions as well as the strategic development of the team. Implementation of scalable solutions to support the long-term growth of the business and the broader integration into Booking.com is critical. Involvement in cross-functional project activity is also anticipated as part of fulfilling responsibilities in this area.

Building and developing a strong team for the long-term is also key, facilitating development of talent and career progression through the team, as well as ensuring accountability for the overall objectives of the department and the cascade of those objectives down to individual team members.

Stakeholder management across the business including having impact upon senior Commercial colleagues and external supplier relationships is also a core component of responsibility.


As Manager, Finance Operations, you will be responsible for:

  • Full ownership of the strategic development, processes and their impact on the rest of the organisation
  • Leading multiple teams remotely and being responsible for the development of individuals (manage managers) within that team. Coach and direct people to allow them to achieve both department and individual objectives
  • Development of the strategic direction and targets for the teams, define objectives and key results and drive the delivery thereof
  • Facilitating detailed understanding of end to end processes by ensuring that the team maintains strong process documentation and training materials
  • Leading a Risk & Compliance driven culture, resulting in adherence to Company policies, compliance requirements (SOx, Tax) and applicable governmental and accounting regulations for all the processes and teams under its scope. This includes cross-functional awareness of changes and its impact on the scope
  • Act as a Point of communication and escalation level, for external and internal stakeholder relationships, as well towards executive levels, where required when resolving any technical and process issues relating to the scope of the organisation
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the department for technical solutions and innovation in close alignment of the Finance leadership and the wider department and our stakeholders
  • Defining and establishing processes and procedures which ensure the quality and integrity of financial data
  • Helping with developing and implementing strategic goals and objectives for process improvements to implementation in the Finance Operations teams. Own the realisation of complex, business driven, cross-functional innovation and improvement projects, while aiming towards global standardisation and scalability where appropriate
  • Have the ability to work and communicate cross departmental and at LT stakeholder level

As Manager, Finance Operations you will have:

  • Bachelor Degree preferably in a Business Administration or Finance related field
  • 8-12 years experience in Finance Operations role
  • Proven experience and high display of analytical and organisation skills
  • Proven experience as a cross departmental connector and facilitator, with a focus on the Finance department
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills, leading by example, get the full buy-in
  • Ability to deal with department escalations and organisational needs independently
  • Proven track record in a particular area of expertise and management
  • Experience managing large teams, senior professionals and individual contributors
  • Ability to adjust the message to the audience, communicate effectively
  • Excellent command in verbal and written English language
