Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is seeking an enthusiastic Business Analyst Team Lead to join their Information Services function.

You’ll lead our Business Analysis capability, supporting a diverse customer base, including: MoD logistics, engineering maintenance and support, data analytics, emerging technology, and business services.

This role necessitates leading a team of BA’s who will proactively engage with business and functional departments to identify current and emerging business requirements .

In order to effectively lead a small team, within a very large enterprise, the role requires a broad set of skills and a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. You will be a self-starter and a strong communicator - able to present ideas, facilitate workshops and draw the analysis needs of the programme out to ensure they are adequately resourced and executed.

As team lead, you will ensure the team is enabled, and supported, to deliver quality outputs. The successful candidate must be able to gain the confidence of both business and technical staff - with the ability to influence.

The job will be based in Bristol but will require travel to the other sites as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain close relationship with Programme and Change Management functions to enable a clear view of upcoming team workload
  • Impact assess all incoming tasks to determine the levels of BA effort required
  • Work with key stakeholders to maintain a clear view of upcoming BA resource demands and flag all areas of overload in time to draw support from the wider business
  • Proactively engage across the business to identify areas where BA support would add value. Maintain portfolio of examples to aid engagement. Promote holistic value driven thinking
  • Maintain analytical methods and professional standards within the Business Analysis Team
  • Identify the skill set needed within the BA function. Identify skill gaps within the team to develop an appropriate training programme making use of internal and external training resources as necessary
  • Take responsibility for the overall output quality of the BA function. Either review all output at applicable lifecycle phases or delegate to an appropriately experienced team member
  • Support the team in the adoption of agile working practices. Where BA’s are undertaking a product owner role, provide senior level support
  • Provide professional consultative services at Company, business unit, programme and project level
  • Help define and refine strategy, service models and business cases ensuring value delivery to all stakeholders
  • Define and own the ’Requirements/Functional Baselines’ for all programmes in the portfolio
  • Undertake senior BA activities on key projects as dictated by programme demands
Qualifications
  • Degree level education background preferred
  • Previous team lead experience an advantage but not essential.
  • Extensive business analysis experience gained within a dynamic, customer focused environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management, procurement, engineering, finance, asset management, maintenance and support environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with staff at all levels, comfortable with conducting presentations and running meetings
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
Advantageous Experience
  • Sparx Enterprise Architect, DOORs, JIRA or similar
  • Broad knowledge of general IT management (such as application selection/development, IT infrastructure, project and supplier management)
  • Experience of working within the Government Services sector
  • Any specific experience of Business Systems (Oracle, SAP, GOLDesp), TeamCentre Multisite and SharePoint 2013)
  • Experience of working within a multinational matrix management environment / structure and a large-scale, complex international organisation, but also within small teams.

  • Willingness and eligibility to undergo SC level clearance is required.
