Job title: Graduate Gas Network Analyst

Location: Warwick

Salary: £28,000 to £32,000

Contract: 6 months initially, with scope to becoming a permanent opportunity

Hybrid working 2/3 days in the office and remaining days from home

Our client a leading energy provider in the Warwick area has a requirement for a Graduate Gas Network Analyst to join their team in an exciting and vital transformation period. Creating cleaner, greener systems that serves generations to come.

This opportunity provides a fantastic experience for someone wanting to enter the professional world as an Analyst, coupled with an interest in a large energy provider.

The role will be to deliver gas network simulation and modelling analysis to ensure the gas transmission system continues to transport energy to our customers safely and reliably across a range of timescales. You will also support the development and prioritisation of investment and commercial proposals against a range of financial, regulatory and commercial incentives.

Responsibilities

To deliver a range of business requirements including:

  • The development of operational strategies to ensure that safety is maintained, and customer requirements are met, in real and close to real time.
  • The development of operational strategies to deliver access to the network to facilitate maintenance activities, both planned and unplanned.
  • The application of industry-agreed processes to assess and facilitate connections to the network.
  • The consideration of a range of future forecasts and scenarios to develop future strategies for the network.
  • Deliver analysis of supply and demand data including development and implementation of tools and processes to populate and analyse network simulations
  • Obtaining support as necessary from Senior Network Analysts, develop ability to work independently
  • Documenting and communicating the results of Network Analysis to a range of internal and external stakeholders

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to degree level, ideally in one of the following Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics is essential.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and building relationships.
  • Excellent numerical ability, problem solving skills and demonstrable logical thinking.
  • Experience of MATLAB and Aspen systems is desirable
  • Understanding of factors that impact the movement of a gas.
  • An understanding of network analysis hydraulic simulation software desirable but not essential.
  • Appreciation of the physical operation of the National Transmission System, plant and equipment desirable but not essential.

Core training and ongoing support is available for the successful candidate, provided by the client and Adecco Early in Careers.
