Job Title: General Operative

Location:Wingham, Canterbury, Kent (MUST DRIVE AND HAVE OWN TRANSPORT DUE TO LOCATION)

Salary:

Starting Salary £20,842

Competent in two roles £21,885.18

Competent in three roles £22,693.76

Competent in all four roles £23,478

You can earn extra on top of this by taking on overtime, overtime is paid at x1.33

Hours:Monday to Friday - rotating shifts of 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am

The Client:

This is an exciting role for someone that wants to learn a variety of skills. Our client has a small team on their Wingham site and is looking for someone that will compliment and work well with the current team.

You will learn one area at a time receiving a pay increase for each area you learn. There are 4 areas to learn which usually take around 1 year in total but could be quicker if you are a quick learner.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
  • Working in a small team across the 4 areas of the site.
  • Loading vehicles ready for the drivers.
  • Preparing drivers paperwork with load, location, weight etc.
  • Tipping materials into the shoots.
  • Shunting vehicles around the yard (training given, no HGV licence required)
  • Working in the warehouse picking and packing orders.
  • Using the forklift to reach items off the racking.
  • Hand balling products, could be lifting up to 25kg.
  • Bagging products ready for distribution.
  • Working in the control room to control the machinery on site.
  • Loading raw materials into the machines to product finished product.
Experience and skills required for this position:
  • Ideally you will have a forklift licence but this is not essential.
  • You must have your own transport due to the location of the site.
  • You must be flexible to work the 3 shifts of the site 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am
  • Computer literate - not to use word and excel but the machines are computer run (training will be given)
  • Team player
  • Physically fit - could be lifting up to 25kg bags
