About The Role

As First Team Coach your role will be to assist the Head Coach with the day to day running of the First Team

This is a Full time role including Match Days

Coaching

• Be part of the coaching team for all First Team games
• Work with the Head Coach to plan and deliver team training sessions
• Coach First Team group, and individual sessions
• Coach the players in the development squad when required

Analysis

• Deliver team, and one to one analysis sessions
• Work with Coaching and Analysis team to prepare and deliver pre and post-match analysis as directed by the Head Coach
• Play a role in the tactical analysis of Forest Green and their opponents
• Play a role in the individual analysis of the Forest Green players

Set pieces

• Support the Coaching Team with set piece training and match day organisation
• Play a role with the pre and post-match planning and reviewing

Planning and Reporting

• Produce pre and post-match coaching report
• Track and monitor team coaching sessions
• Produce a report to track and monitor player development
• Ensure each first team player has a development plan
• Support the loan players with their development
• Report on loan players to their parent clubs
• Track and monitor FGR players who are out on loan

Holistic development

• Support players with their holistic development and ensure the wellbeing of the players

Collaboration

• Work closely with the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach
• Work with the parent clubs of our loan players to understand each players development needs
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team
• Link with the Academy to support the transition of players into the First Team
• Attend club events as required
• Attend media events as required

Any other relevant task and duties as directed by the Director of Football

About You

You’ll have the skillset to deliver the duties listed above, and an attitude that ties in with the progressive, friendly nature of FGR.

Essential characteristics and qualifications

• The successful candidate will be an excellent developer of people, will motivate and inspire professional players and be able to accelerate their development
• They will have excellent technical and tactical knowledge to support with
• They will be approachable and an excellent communicator
• They will hold the UEFA A license coaching certificate
• DBS will be undertaken

Desirable

• The successful candidate will have experience of coaching professional players and will have a track record of creating an environment to accelerate development
• First aid trained
• Pro License coaching qualification
