Position Description


This is an exciting time in the Energy Services business and a great opportunity to join a growing business line and become part of ESB’s Brighter Future.

The Smart Energy Services business has been formed to develop and deliver an integrated energy management solution for large energy users in the UK. We are working with prestigious clients in the retail, hospitality, education, and medical sectors

We work in partnership with our customers to create long term shared value and this is a wonderful opportunity for someone who would like to take on a new challenge and gain excellent experience within this fast-growing business area.


Key Responsibilities


  • To carry out all aspects of system design across a range of technologies
  • Take full responsibility for system design from conception through detailed design to post-installation design verification
  • Specify equipment; produce system schematics, layout drawings and materials requirement
  • Offer technical support to the Sales and Installations departments
  • Attend client meetings as required to finalise and co-ordinate system capabilities and interfaces
  • Carry out all duties so as to ensure efficiency and rigour in Engineering practices/output
  • Manage workload effectively and adhere to deadlines in an environment where priorities can be shifting
  • Participate fully in the creative and entrepreneurial atmosphere of a growing company
  • Other duties that may be required from time to time by the company

Knowledge, Skills and Experience


Essential

  • 10 years post qualification experience in a relevant field as a minimum
  • Proven track record of design capability
  • Experience working with at least 3 of the following technologies: GSHP, ASHP, Solar Thermal, Solar PV, CHP, Biomass
  • Excellent organisational, communication, problem solving skills
  • Excellent broad ranging IT skills
  • Excellent specific IT skills to include AutoCad, Revit 3D, Excel
  • Ability to manage own workload and multi task
  • Analytical, collaborative, team player
  • 10+ years specific GSHP detailed design experience
  • Certified GEO Exchange Ground Loop Designer
  • 5+ years of team management experience.

Qualifications


Essential


Mechanical Engineering/Building Services degree or equivalent


Desirable


Master’s degree in relevant/associated field
