I am looking to speak with a Chartered Senior Geotechnical Engineer (MICE) with extensive detailed design experience on major infrastructure, transportation and/or temporary works, that is looking for that next step into not only technical delivery but commercial and project management including D&B schemes. This role also offers the chance to help grow the Geotechnical team in Manchester.

This role can feel quiet refreshing if you have come from a major multi-disciplinary. Although you will still be working for a well estbalihsed award winning design consultancy, they allow you to project manage and tackle projects on your own accord, which allows you to think more innovative whilst building and maintaining relationship with the likes of local contractors as well as large scale private and public sector clients.

You will be sat within a specialist Geotechnical team helping to deliver complex geotechnical design projects. You will be required as a Chartered Senior Geotechnical Engineer (MICE), to procure and plan geotechnical ground investigations, undertake rock slope inspections, provide reports which detail recommended remedial works, undertake geotechnical detailed designs and technical report writing.

As a Chartered Senior Geotechnical Engineer (MICE), your design responsibilities will surround foundations for gantries, minor structures and structural widening, reinforced structures, retaining walls, slopes, piled, shallow and deep foundations etc. Including the use of most industry software modelling programs.

As a Chartered Senior Geotechnical Engineer (MICE), you should be able to demonstrate:
  • 1st degree in Civil Engineering with a relative MSc in Geotechnics or Soil Mechanics.
  • Chartered with ICE.
  • Will have proven previous experience of undertaking: geotechnical desk studies; procuring & supervising Ground Investigations (GIs),
  • Demonstrable experience of geotechnical design together with a familiarity of design submission documentation. This includes a demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles and a knowledge of Eurocode 7
  • Ability to use a range of geotechnical software for the design of civil engineering projects including the following: deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis); embedded and gravity retaining walls; earthworks/slope stability; reinforced earthworks etc.
  • Full UK driving licence
