The team

Brand Design is a key team at PrimaryBid that works cross-functionally to enable a range of creative solutions for the business. The team sits within Marketing, Brand & Communications, and collaborates closely with partners across this function. The team is responsible for delivering impactful experiences and innovative design outputs for our numerous audiences, in particular B2B customers. This includes the creation of new brand elements, campaign creative, pitch materials, platforms, and engaging video content. The team has a creative, collaborative and authentic culture that prioritises great work, professional development, and a clear purpose that is aligned to our business objectives.

The role

We create industry-leading pitch experiences, material and collateral that blow our partners away and bring our product experience to life. This role reflects the importance placed on pitches and presentations at PrimaryBid, and its strategic value to our success.

Pitches at PrimaryBid are not just a flat sales deck with someone speaking over them. They are often presented to industry-leading organisations, C-Suite executives and board members of some of the most recognisable names, and we aim to drive thought-provoking conversation through a variety of immersive materials and interactive presentations that clearly and effectively explain who we are and what we can do.

As our pitch-focused Brand Designer, your key responsibilities will be producing presentations, content, and creative that is geared for pitch audiences (including CEOs, CFOs, and other finance industry professionals internationally). You’ll guide development of our pitch platform (e.g. microsites and custom landing pages for each pitch), and work closely with senior stakeholders to craft meaningful narratives in our pitch and presentation materials.

You’ll work closely with other Brand, Motion, and Product Designers to bring our solutions to life, whether that’s through animated content, fluid product experiences, or considered illustration; channelling these elements into a coherent and compelling narrative.

Key responsibilities

  • Be the main point of contact for everything related to pitch decks and presentations, and be a thought-leader on new ways and formats for presenting information and building sales collateral;
  • Take ownership of our visual and brand language in pitches and presentations, working closely with other brand, motion, and product designers to ensure consistency;
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Marketing, Capital Markets and Distribution, and senior stakeholders throughout the business through the pitch process;
  • Produce and manage templates that enable colleagues to self-serve on internal presentations;
  • Manage your own workflow effectively, and work with the team on prioritisation;
  • Support on other sales enablement outputs - e.g. one-pagers, case studies, sales collateral, infographics etc.;
  • Support the rest of the brand design team on further requirements as needed (such as brand campaigns, event collateral etc.).

Requirements

  • Significant experience creating impactful and engaging pitches and presentations
  • Strong visual and technical skills, and an understanding of how to turn complex ideas into simple visual communication
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset (needed to succeed in a start-up environment)
  • A strong understanding of the principles of good design
  • Evidenced understanding of how to explain ideas, sell products or services, communicate information, and summarise dense content.
  • Adobe CC (key programmes)
  • Figma
  • Google Slides and Microsoft Powerpoint

Desirables

  • We’d welcome experience with other pitch/presentation platforms (e.g. pitch.com)
  • A qualification in design, or design-related field
  • An interest in digital technology and its potential to reimagine traditional financial services

A day in the life of a pitch-focused Brand Designer

Your morning might include a team meeting, where you’ll hear what the priorities are for you and the rest of the team this week. You might then work on a landing page for a major pitch opportunity with a well-known Tech brand. In the afternoon, you might be asked to support the office of the CEO on a board deck, translating some of our key performance metrics into more coherent and impressive visual language. You’ll also be asked for your opinion on work being produced by other team members in the Design Group Chat – where we share our ideas, executions, and outputs for feedback and discussion.

Interview Process

1st Stage
Once you’ve been shortlisted, we’ll invite you for a competency interview with our Creative Director and VP of Corporate Affairs & Marketing, who will dig deeper into your experience. This interview is a great opportunity for you to find out more about the role as well as plans for the business, so feel free to ask any questions.

Take Home Task and Interview
During this stage we’ll send you over a case study to complete based around your skills and hands-on experience. You’ll then meet some of the PrimaryBid design team that you’ll be working/collaborating with on a daily basis and go through your work.

Culture Interview
If all goes well at the technical interview, we’ll invite you to a short final chat with a member of our culture committee to wrap up the process.
