Our Opportunity

**

Due to our continued growth and increasing workload, we are looking for an ambitious Associate H&S Consultant who will work on a wide variety of projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering principal designer and CDM services. This role is based in Manchester; with the flexibility for both home and office working.

The successful Associate will be responsible for growing the team and client portfolio in the North West, through the support of the Health & Safety team leads. This role will suit a Principal or Associate H&S Construction consultant who has experience working within the North West Region.

The core role will be delivering CDM and H&S advisory services across both internally delivered projects and external, with significant opportunities for completing training and personal growth. The core of our service is supporting the business as principal designer and working with the design team to reduce and manage risks in design. As such the role will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring projects comply with CDM 2015, making use of our policies and standard processes
  • Assisting the client in discharging their duties and enacting positive H&S management
  • Attending design team meetings, reviewing designs
  • Engaging with and support the design team
  • Attending construction sites to complete H&S inspections and reporting to the client
  • Engaging with the principal contractor to drive positive safety management
  • Embracing the ethical, cultural and strategic aims of the business, and promotes these within resource teams.
  • Deputising for the Associate Director
  • Managing the H&S Advisory resources
  • Acting as lead H&S Advisory Manager on complex major projects and programmes
  • Providing commercial management on commissions, undertaking Job Lead role on multi-disciplinary appointments.
  • Assisting the Associate Director with the preparation of fees and scope of services for new commissions/projects
  • Acting as the initial point of contact for Bids with the Bid Team and Regional Managers

About You

**

The successful Associate H&S Construction Consultant will be a dynamic, enthusiastic, responsible and practical person, who shares the same values and ambition of our consultants.

Technical Competencies

  • Significant (5-10 years) relevant experience
  • Experience in either construction site safety or design (Architecture, Engineering, Surveying etc.)
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety preferred (or equivalent) and membership of a professional body (CMaPs, Technician IOSH)
  • Practical experience in managing or providing dedicated CDM / H&S advisor services/role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2015
  • Undertaking regular CPD activities
  • Good technical and industry–wide Statutory Regulation knowledge
  • Proven capability of managing major projects / clients
  • Good Microsoft office and other software package skills
