We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and suitably qualified Art and Design Technician to join a thriving, diverse Art and Design team. The department is well resourced with each room having ICT provision to include a digital projector and interactive white board. Other resources include six multimedia flat screen computers, colour photo printer, digital cameras, a printing press and a modern front-loading kiln.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and oversee the upkeep of art and design equipment, tools, and machinery.
• Ensure that all equipment is in working order and arrange for repairs or replacements when necessary.
• Set up art rooms and workspaces for classes, ensuring that all required materials and supplies are readily available.
• Assist in arranging and organising the classroom environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning.

Requirements:

• The successful Art & Design technician will have a proven background in Art & Design, a strong working knowledge of ICT, and the ability to prepare equipment for KS3 and KS4 classes.
• While experience at ’A’ Level is advantageous, it is not essential. A qualification in the field of Art & Design, such as a BA Hons degree, BTEC Diploma, HND, or Foundation Diploma, would be beneficial.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• The ability to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
