Conteúdo do emprego

The Donkey Sanctuary is an international animal welfare organisation, offering care and protection to donkeys and mules worldwide. We are working for a world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering, and their contribution to humanity is fully valued. We are achieving this by transforming the quality of life for donkeys, mules and people worldwide through greater understanding, collaboration and support, and by promoting lasting, mutually life-enhancing relationships.

We are looking to recruit two Adoption and Lottery Hosts. As an Adoption and Lottery Host, you really are the face of The Donkey Sanctuary, actively engaging with visitors and promoting our Adopt a Donkey scheme and The Donkey Sanctuary Weekly Lottery. Working alongside the visitor service team you will help meet stretching targets, as well as providing a fantastic welcome. By talking with visitors in an enthusiastic, passionate and persuasive way, you will help to win over hearts and minds for the charity’s worldwide work, as you use your excellent customer service and sales skills.

You will actively promote the adoption scheme, The Donkey Sanctuary Weekly Lottery and the charity’s mission to our visitors, explaining how their adoption and/or playing the lottery will support the work of The Donkey Sanctuary worldwide. Recruit new supporters to the adoption scheme to an agreed target and direct new supporters to ways they can sign up to play the lottery; to speak knowledgeably and confidently about the programme with a clear understanding of our lottery rules and responsible gambling. Attend Donkey Sanctuary events as required to promote the adoption scheme and to promote The Donkey Sanctuary Weekly Lottery.

Ensure that excellent customer service is a main priority, giving a warm welcome to all visitors and engaging them in the charity at every opportunity; assist with other fundraising activities as required as well as the Visitors’ Centre.

If you feel you have the qualities, skills and experience to fulfil this varied, rewarding and vital role, and would like to be part of the evolving programme of change taking place within the charity, we would love to hear from you. Based in Sidmouth, Devon – an area of outstanding natural beauty – these are part time, fixed term contracts, working 32.5 hours over 7 days, starting as soon as possible until September 2021.

Closing date for completed applications: Tuesday 13 July 2021.
The Donkey Sanctuary is a Disability Confident Employer.
The Donkey Sanctuary is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable people (children and adults), and expects all staff and volunteers to undertake this commitment. Applicants will be subject to safer recruitment processes, including an application for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check where required for the post.
