Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose

To add value to the Bids & Proposals (B&P) process. This function is pivotal to the success of winning business and minimising commercial risk to Oceaneering. To drive continuous improvement into the B&P process.

Functions

ESSENTIAL

    • Ability to be an individual contributor at appropriate level.
    • Ability to apply basic knowledge to job under general supervision.
    • Contributes to completion of routine tasks.
    • Explains basic facts, practices and policies to internal/external parties.
  • Manage tenders from start to finish adhering to established process, tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Creation and maintenance of Bids & Proposals data in CRM.
  • Collation and management of all data requirements / inputs for the Bids & Proposals process e.g. drawings, schedules, cost estimates, cash-flow summaries, as part of a standard process.
  • Working as a core team member for each Bids & Proposals and liaising with other Functions as required e.g. Sales, Estimating, Proposals Engineering, Finance, Project Management, Contracts.
  • Facilitate and prepare content for procedural review meetings on cost, risk and lessons learned.
  • Attend clarification meetings, sales hand-over meets and kick-off meetings as required (may not all be held on-site).
  • Client contact – by phone, e-mail and/or media call.
  • Prioritise multiple projects, consistently meet challenging deadlines and effectively assimilate contractual, technical and commercial information in order to provide highly responsive level of service to customer requirements.
  • Process orders as required in line with the established Project Management process.
  • Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems of the Company.
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
  • Displays required levels of engagement and a positive `can-do` attitude while consistently supporting Oceaneering culture of Safety, Quality, ongoing learning and continual improvement.
  • Some travel within and out-with the UK may be required.
  • Efficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and bid writing software is required.
  • Support the Tendering Manager in ensuring appropriate controls are in place across the business and compliance with all reporting standards.
  • Strive for continual development on a technical and personal basis inlcuding stretch assignments beyond normal role.
  • Ensure any work-related concerns or breaches in business standards are highlighted to Management in a timely manner and in accordance with any relevant procedures or processes.
  • Help develop colleagues and/or third parties as required.
  • Will consistently display required levels of engagement and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude while consistently supporting Oceaneering’s culture of Safety, Quality, ongoing learning, due diligence and continual improvement.
  • Undertake any other roles as required in order to support business needs

Qualifications

Qualifications (Alternative or equivalent experience or qualifications can be considered where appropriate)

REQUIRED

  • HNC/HND in a business-related subject
  • Previous experience within a similar role

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
