Brief

We are currently looking to recruit a Property Lawyer to join our Property Energy & Infrastructure team, part of our UK national Property Group, preferably based out of our Birmingham office but we will also consider candidates who wish to be based out of our other English offices (excluding London). We are ideally looking to recruit a candidate from 1-3 years’ PQE.

Background

We boast one of the largest groups of dedicated property lawyers in the UK. When you instruct Pinsent Masons to act on your property matter, you are tapping into the combined expertise of over 240 highly skilled lawyers, including many renowned experts. Clients praise us for our commercial approach, providing clear, relevant and timely advice.

Our breadth of experience coupled with our specialist knowledge means that whether we are advising on a major infrastructure or development project or arranging a quick sale of a single building, our clients receive the legal support they require, when and how they want it.

Sector insight is absolutely central to the way we work. Within our large Property Group, we have one of the largest teams of property lawyers specialising in major energy and infrastructure sector work. Our clients include the public sector bodies, developers, funders and investors involved in such projects. For example, this has included major road and rail projects for Transport for London and Highways England, and almost uniquely amongst law firms, we have acted on all of the world’s largest offshore wind farms, all of which are located in UK territorial waters. For “big six” utility company EON we have been appointed on a sole adviser basis and the team is responsible for managing EON’s entire UK property portfolio including both operational and non-operational sites.

The Candidate Required

The successful candidate will ideally have gained experience in commercial property with a large regional or national practice, in particular experience of property work on energy and infrastructure projects. They will have a strong academic background and an outgoing personality. Candidates must also be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about, and demonstrate a track record of, business development. They will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach.

Lawyers joining this friendly and dynamic team will encounter a broad range of energy and infrastructure property work, acting for a range of high-profile clients on large and nationally significant energy and infrastructure transactions. In particular the successful candidate will work on wind (on and offshore), solar, hydro and nuclear transactions in the energy sphere and road, rail and ports and other major infrastructure projects, acting for a mix of clients, including public authorities, developers, investors, funders and utility companies. Whilst the successful candidate will sit within our property energy and infrastructure team (which is part of our UK national Property Group), they will have close links to our energy and infrastructure sectors, which are two of our Global Sectors.

What will we offer you?
  • We are a market leading, dynamic and growing global team who work together to produce outstanding results for our clients.
  • We invest in our team and have a first-class training and career development programme, monthly 121s, career discussions and biannual appraisals. Our training reflects our position as a market leader in communications and sourcing. Our training will assist you to develop as a specialist with valuable sector knowledge and the ability to deliver "best of breed" services.
  • Early responsibility and opportunities to develop client relationships.
Should you require further details, please contact our in-house Lateral Recruitment Advisor Karen Rawlings who can discuss the role and requirements.
