BDS are currently recruiting for a Project Surveyor to cover the Sunderland area.

Responsibilities –

You will be responsible for the effective technical support in relation to the management of contractors delivering investment work to the asset portfolio. You will be the first line of contact in dealing with customer queries, on-site contractor performance and quality management issues. This will include the management of contractors to deliver schemes to the required time, cost and quality standards. You will also play a key part in supporting the consultation and engagement with customers, leaseholders and other key stakeholders including Housing Operations.

The Role –

  • Undertake documented quality inspections of work during progress and following completion to ensure works are completed within the specified timescales to the quality required and that the works deliver value for money.
  • Contribute towards the production of documents and drawings associated with the delivery of the asset management investment plan.
  • Seek excellent customer satisfaction by responding to complaints and enquires from customers and colleagues providing appropriate and timely responses including technical advice and guidance.

Who are we looking for ? -

• Demonstrate a good understanding of construction technology and building defects

• Knowledge of construction and the repairs associated with all types of domestic dwellings including the refurbishment of older housing

• A working and up to date knowledge of Building Regulations and statutory approvals

• IT skills particularly experience with Microsoft Word, Excel (2007 & 2010), Asset Management Systems database plus experience in AutoCAD or similar software design systems

• Experience in undertaking work in progress and post inspections of work

• Experience of supporting design preparation, specification and contract documents for large projects

• ONC/HNC in construction or equivalent or considerable, relevant and demonstrable experience

• Full UK Driving License

This is a permanent position on a full time basis.

Salary is £33,529 per annum.
