Machine Tools Technology (MTT) is enjoying an exciting and sustainable growth program following the award of several prestigious long term, high value projects. Our expansion will also see the opening of a new facility in 2024.

As Project Quality Lead, you will be responsible for the creation and operation of bespoke quality management arrangements for a specific ‘design and supply’ project. The successful candidate will be tasked with liaising with external and internal stakeholders, with the support of MTT’s Quality Manager, to determine project quality requirements and to put measures in place to ensure that all design, manufacturing, testing and commissioning activities are properly controlled and assured. This will include setting and managing the arrangements for project governance, leadership, monitoring and improvement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Liaise with all stakeholders to create an agreed quality system, including operating procedures, design quality plans, and inspection & test plans.
  • Ongoing monitoring and measurement of the performance of the quality system (including internal audits, supply chain audits, and support to management reviews), to ensure that the system is operating effectively. Correct any deficiencies and manage any non-conformances found.
  • Support the project management, design engineering, and production functions to undertake their operations in a controlled manner that will ultimately ensure reliability and safety of the product, and satisfaction of the customer.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Several years’ project quality management experience within the engineering industry.
  • Relevant qualification in quality management and membership of a professional body (e.g. chartered membership of the Chartered Quality Institute, Internal Auditor qualification for ISO 9001).
  • Experience of manufacturing quality control in mechanical and electrical engineering would be highly beneficial e.g. experience of witnessing/inspecting fabrications, non-destructive testing, electrical testing and commissioning, etc.
  • Experience of machine tools and nuclear engineering would also be highly desirable.
