We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for two experienced IT Project Managers to join our team and play a pivotal role in a cutting-edge technology programme for a brand-new council campus.As an IT Project Manager, you will lead and execute projects at the forefront of technology, encompassing network services, IT infrastructure, audio-visual services, smart building technologies, physical and cyber security initiatives, and the creation of modern hybrid working office spaces. This role offers a unique chance to shape the future of the council campus, contributing to a smarter and more efficient user experience for both employees and the local community.The projects within the Civic Campus technology portfolio are medium-large scale IT projects which are complex and typically lasting 6-12 months. The projects involve multiple internal and external partners with a direct business impact and firm deadlines.Our mission is to be the best council.   • Project Leadership: define, plan, execute, and close projects while ensuring they are delivered on time, within a manageable scope, and on budget. Project managers will be expected to take responsibility and appropriate action where team performances deviates from agreed tolerances.
  • Project Delivery: Define and manage the process for deploying and integrating new capabilities into the business in a way that is sensitive to and fully compatible with new business operations, including planning around key business cycles.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and key business partners to define project requirements and objectives, review benefits and risks and manage timelines. Project managers will be expected to provide accurate correspondence and reports to key stakeholders across the business.
  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage project resources effectively, ensuring that teams are engaged, motivated, organised and equipped for success.
  • Risk Management: This will involve identifying, assessing, and managing risks to the success of the project. This will also include finding innovative mitigations to address issues and making informed decisions to keep projects on track.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest quality standards for all projects, adhering to best practices and industry standards. Ensure your actions and decisions align with the Council’s culture, vision, responsibilities and declaration of a climate and ecological emergency.
  • Monitoring and Project Documentation: Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including scope and solution proposals, delivery plans, budget trackers, RAID controls and status reports. Responsibilities will also include aligning with change control processes and managing internal procurement governance and ensuring that lessons learned are communicated to the wider business post project completion.
  • Hybrid Working Environment: Facilitate and championing the development and management of cutting-edge hybrid working office spaces that enhance productivity and employee well-being.
  • Communication: clearly directing and consulting wider team members and advising key stakeholders as necessary on all project phases, progress, issues and risks.
