We are seeking Maternity Cover (September 2021 – September 2022) for our Project Manager to deliver an exciting phase of delivery for the Riverlands Upper Bure Project. Working with key stakeholders and partners you will manage delivery of landscape restoration projects, including river and pond restoration and tree planting, as well as delivering an inspiring programme to connect local visitors and communities to nature and the work we do.

**This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months


What it’s like to work here:The role is based within our internal NT consultancy and you will work closely with regional colleagues as well as property teams at Blickling and Felbrigg Estates to deliver the project. Partnership is at the heart of Riverlands and there is a need to uphold good working relationships with a range of landowners and stakeholders as well as our internal teams.

Our work is part of a National Programme bringing additional support and knowledge to our expanding ambition to create a healthy, beautiful, and natural environment.

You will have a dynamic working week and will need the ability to travel throughout the catchment for meetings. Work will be a combination of home working, working from property and being on site.


What you’ll be doing:You’ll be managing the Upper Bure Project through a key phase of delivery. This includes managing projects including river restoration, pond restoration, tree planting, farmer engagement and access improvements and our nature connection programme. The work will be delivered through a range of our internal teams, our partner organisations, and external contracts, so a good knowledge of project delivery is required.

You’ll also be responsible for completing the feasibility and design of our next phase of works in 2023-2024 as well as working with our fundraising teams to identify funding future opportunities.


Who we’re looking forTo be successful in this role you’ll need.

  • To be an excellent project manager with a proven track record in a project management environment.
  • Experience in leading and delivery complex projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer focus, you’re brilliant with people and build good working relationships with everyone around you.
  • Good attention to detail and a talent for multi-tasking and problem solving.
  • Experience of managing operational risk such as health and safety and environmental compliance.
  • You’ll be able to work on your own initiative and have good decision-making skills and the ability to influence people.
  • Good financial acumen including experience of manging budgets to control costs.
  • Experience of contract management and administration.
  • Experience of working in the natural environment or heritage sector would be useful but not essential.
