Responsibilities:
Managing engineering projects with cross functional teams based in the UK and around the world- Track project performance against objectives and key milestones
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared across Engineering / R&D
- Work closely with stakeholders (marketing, operations and service)
- Plan and execute regular project meetings
- Reporting project progress to senior management in Program Reviews
- Foreign travel on occasion might be required.
Duties:
1. Managing engineering projects with cross functional teams based in the UK and around the world
- Creation of Gantt charts
- Risk assessments and contingency planning
- Budgeting
- Scheduling
- Project control
- Project closure
2. Track project performance against objectives and key milestones
- Budget, product performance, PLC progress, Company objectives
- Population and maintenance of Work Item system for task assignment
- Assign project tasks to cross functional teams and monitor progress towards on-time completion
3. Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared across Engineering / R&D
- Working with the engineering manager and program manager to create comprehensive plans
- Assign tasks to project members in conjunction with priorities set by engineering manager and program manager
4. Work closely with stakeholders (marketing, operations and service)
- Receive requests from stakeholders
- Prioritize stakeholders requests according to business needs
5. Plan and execute regular project meetings
- Planning meetings, problem solving meeting, regular progress updates, project meetings, deep dive meetings
6. Reporting project progress to senior management in Program Reviews
- preparation and delivery of project reports
7. Support all functions of the organisation in delivery of projects and on time completion of objectives
- where required in order to meet the objectives of the organisation
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or above in Physics or related subjects, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering. Prince2 practitioner, PMP certification or equivalent is an advantage.
5 years’ experience in project management in an electronics or mechanical engineering related field. Experience in capital equipment projects (Semiconductors, Medical, etc.) is an advantage.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, senior management and team members, and with others at all levels within the company. Good report writing and presentation skills.
Computer literacy – Microsoft Project, Team Foundation Server, time management tools, problem solving tools, a working knowledge of current Microsoft operating systems and Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
Organisational competencies – Ability to prioritise and progress a number of clearly defined tasks in parallel, collate relevant data and report them in a clear and concise manner.
Personal skills – An ability to work in a team or take on individual responsibility as required.
Motivations – A strong drive to ensure assigned tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. A willingness to be creative.
